How we use your information
If you register for a course, contact us for more information, or subscribe to our newsletter through our website, or evaluation forms, we will collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us. This information may include your contact details including name, address, email, telephone number and, where you provide it, some categories of other personal information. We do not collect any personal information about you unless it is voluntarily provided by you. We use your information in several different ways, and how we use it depends on the information. We’ve laid this out below for you.
Your name and contact details
Most importantly, we use these to send information about our courses. We also send course confirmation details, course programmes and handouts.
We use this to keep you up to date with our latest course lists via email or mailshot. We’ll only ever send these kind of communications if you give us permission, and you can withdraw your permission at any time.
If you fax or post a registration form to us, we keep this information until the course has taken place and it will then be shredded at the end of the year.
Your date of birth information
We do not collect your date of birth
Your payment information
If you pay for your course by credit or debit card, no card details are stored.
Your contact history with us
If you call or email us and provide your contact details, we will use this information to forward the details you have requested. We may occasionally email you regarding the information you initially contacted us about.
Purchase history
Once a course is booked, your name, hospital, department and the course you have booked is entered on to our database. This information is only used to ensure we have a record of the names of delegates booked on each course.
Information about your phone or laptop, and how you use our website
This helps us improve our website and your experience as a customer. It also helps us protect against fraud, and meet our legal obligations as caretaker of your data.
Sharing your information
We never sell or share any personal data, including name, address, email or payment information for SCM Courses. If you book a Phaco course, your Name Hospital and Superiors details are shared with Johnson & Johnson for your course certificates and for their own compliancy policy. Please contact Johnson & Johnson directly if you wish to see their updated privacy policy.

We will only send these, by email or post, if you have given us permission.
You can unsubscribe from these at any time. Simply click the ‘unsubscribe’ link on any email mailshot and we’ll update your preferences. Or email us This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

If you have booked a course, we keep your information in order to provide our service to you, as some courses require updates, and we may also keep it as long as necessary for reporting and training purposes.
If reasonably required we may hold onto your data for legal or regulatory requirements.
We will keep you on our mailing list for 5 years, at which point we will re-confirm your subscription. If no re-confirmation is received, we will remove your personal data.
